Valhalla Winter Guard takes First Place AGAIN this week with a win at Olympian High School. Their score improved, and they took First Place this time with seven other schools in their division! Congratulations to Winter Guard and to Barbie!

We are having a Spring/Easter See's Candy Fundraiser. Students will be given the information and forms on Friday, February 19th in class. Orders will be due on Monday, March 15th. Candy will be delivered the week of March 22 in time for Easter! Thank you so much for your particiption!

In preparation for the West Hills Festival, we will be having two Symphonic Band/Percusion Ensemble Rehearsals and two Concert Band/Percusion Ensemble Rehearsals. This is a graded activity, so attendance is required!

Congratulations to our 24 students who made the GUHSD Honor Band. They were honored to perform with guest conductor Mr. Shannon Kitelinger, Director of Bands at San Diego State University, on Saturday, February 6th at Cuyamaca College.

One of our very own, Scott Woods (Valhalla Jazz Band member), made it into the 2010 SCSBOA Honor Jazz Band. He is one of only 3 from San Diego County to make it into this prestigious group. Only 18 students from all of Southern California were selected for the band. He will be performing with this group on February 13th at Disneyland and February 14th at CSU Fullerton.
