Symphonic Band

Description

Symphonic Band (Symphonic Wind Ensemble) is an advanced level honors instrumental music class working in and performing music at the advanced high school and college level. This class offers advanced California Performing Arts standards based instruction for the enrolled musician. Eligibility for enrollment in this class is based upon advanced individual proficiency identified through audition and teacher recommendation. This band performs as a unit and also in combination with the Concert Band. Because of the performance nature of this class, participation in rehearsals and performances before, during and after the regular school day is a mandatory part of the course curriculum. During the fall semester, must be concurrently enrolled in the Marching Band. Prerequisite: Audition and teacher recommendation.
