Percussion Ensemble

Description

Percussion Ensemble is for students who wish to learn and play percussions instruments. All traditional western and some non-western percussion instruments will be taught. Basic and advance rudiments, scales, stick techniques, fundamental and advanced rhythms, musicality, cadences and various musical genres will be taught. This class performs with the Concert and Symphonic Bands as well as the Marching Band. The class will also perform in percussion ensembles and solos. Because of the performance nature of this class, participation in rehearsals and performances before, during and after the regular school day is a mandatory part of the course. During the fall semester, must be concurrently enrolled in the Marching Band. Prerequisite: Audition and teacher recommendation.
