Volunteer Opportunities 2007-2008

There are many volunteer opportunities for parents to help our students.  The following is a brief summary of some of the volunteer work RSDMF do to support our music students. 

  • RSDMF Board Meetings - The board meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30pm in the band room.

  • Uniform Team - Uniforms, hats, and shoes need to be sized, organized, measured, sewn, checked out, checked in, and checked and checked.  (This is usually on Monday and Thursday nights and at competitions.)

  • Football Games - Our band plays during home football games.  Volunteers help set up the uniform and hat distribution, fixing hair, preparing bleachers, participating as an enthusiastic spectator, passing out water, helping students, and finally checking in uniforms.  Please check the calendar for dates.  Some students may also participate in the pep band on away games and wear their travel uniforms.

  • Band Reviews and Field Tournaments, including the GUHSD Field Show

    Please note that if you are not a chaperone for the day, you are encouraged to attend all competitions.  Set aside those dates if you can.

  • Corporate Fundraiser

  • Restaurant Event Fundraiser

  • Program Advertisements for Winter Concert and/or Pops Concert

  • Silent/Live Auction
